Romney Takes a Beating.
Oooh, not good news for the Mitt Man. Romney had all he money -- I mean, all of it -- in Iowa. The money, the organization, and all the other first tier candidates had business elsewhere, and yet he pulls out 4,516 of a weak 14, 302 thousand votes? 31%? Against . . . no one?
Mike (Ask me how I lost the weight) Huckabee racked up 2587 for 18% and Sam (You gotta be kidding me) Brownback earned 2192 or 15%. Even Tom (nuke Mecca) Tancredo hit 14%.
Mike, Sam and Tom spent a total of, oh, guessing here, 14 dollars and nine cents, compared to Mitt's expenditures which were equal to a greater than the GDP of a Central American banana republic. But a Mike plus a Sam was worth more than a Mitt. Even a Mike plus a Tom was better than a Mitt.
And once again: No Giuliani, no Fred Thompson, no McCain.
The Romney people will spin like tops on this, but this was a beating. There was only one handsome, pandering, first tier megarich guy in this race and he eked out less than a third? The doggies no like that brand of dog food.
